Implementing Ads in Between Posts

If you want ads to appear between posts in your index page, you'll need to edit the template to accomodate it. A word of caution though: do not overload your site with ads such that it will turn your readers away! All templates might differ but I'll try to make this as simple as possible but here you go in 3 short steps:

1. In your index.php file for your theme. Look for a line that says:

<?php if (have_posts()) : ?>

Above it, add this line:

<?php $counter = 1; ?>

2. Find this line:

<?php the_content('…'); ?>

Above it, add this line:

<?php $counter = $counter + 1; ?>

3. Finally, find this line:

<?php endwhile; ?>

Above it, add this line:

<?php  if(2 == $counter){
         echo ' Copy and Paste Your Adsense Code or Other Advertising Code Within the Quotes';
      } ?>

Also, this code is also applicable to archive.php file. For more information on how other bloggers are doing it, try these:

    I tried the above method but unfortunately couldn't get my ads to display as expected. I'm going to try again to see what the issue could be.

    I have tried to implement ads using a plugin, and I also gave a supposedly AdSense optimized WordPress theme a try. I haven been satisfied with the results of either one. Maybe I just need more readers?

    Hi Shawn,

    I've seen a recent report that says most ad clickers come from search engines, so you might wanna try to improve your seo ranking on a specific keyword.

    here, linkbuilding will be very important! so give it a try by trying to linkbait, etc.
